At Dressler’s Restaurant, we know all about comfort foods. We love to eat them and we love serving them to our guests. Some of Chef Scott’s favorite comfort foods include braised short ribs, slow cooked Cheshire Farms pork shoulder, macaroni and cheese, and Sea Island Red Pea stew.
The only thing more satisfying than the wonderful aromas of baked lasagne, pot roast, slow-cooked chili, or soup wafting through your house is sharing them with those you love.
Many of the dishes below can be prepared ahead of time or placed in a slow cooker to simmer throughout the day. Serve with warm bread, biscuits, or cornbread and a salad. Then sit down and enjoy a hot, delicious meal with your family.

soups/stews–It’s easy to prepare homemade soups and stews in your slow cooker. Place your meat, vegetables, and seasonings in the crock and set the controls to low. The time you spend preparing this in the morning is well worth it when you get home at the end of the day and dinner is ready.
casseroles–These are great make-ahead meals that have the meat and vegetables all in one dish. Try chicken pot pie, macaroni and cheese, turkey tetrazzini, and Texas-style enchilada casserole.
pasta–What could be easier than boiling water? Cook and drain the pasta, then add your favorite sauce, fresh herbs, meat, and veggies. Top with grated cheese and serve with fresh bread and salad.
